DCAPES plays a critical role in supporting Air Force deployment planning and global operational readiness. As operational demands evolved, planning teams faced increasing pressure to manage growing volumes of mission data support faster planning timelines and adapt to rapidly changing requirements. Existing systems and processes made it difficult to quickly implement requirements, scale capabilities, deliver timely updates, and limited the speed and responsiveness needed to support modern readiness operations. Concept Plus was tasked with supporting the modernization of the platform to improve system performance, scalability, and operational usability
Concept Plus’ Specific Role
Concept Plus supported the modernization of DCAPES by delivering secure, scalable IT solutions focused on improving system performance, operational usability, and delivery efficiency. The team supported ongoing platform enhancements, software delivery, and operational support efforts to help modernize the system and improve responsiveness for mission users. As part of the effort, Concept Plus delivered 24 software releases, implementing 297 requirements and 161 system improvements
supporting more that 12,000 warfighters aligned with the Secretary of the Air Force’s Force Readiness operational priorities. Concept Plus also provided responsive end-user support and implemented process improvements designed to strengthen software quality, accelerate delivery timelines, and improve overall operations efficiency.

Concept Plus combined agile delivery practices, automated testing strategies, and responsive operational support to accelerate capability delivery while maintaining system reliability and operational continuity. The approach emphasized rapid iteration, continuous improvement, and streamlined release processes designed to support evolving operational requirements with minimal disruption to mission users.
By transforming testing and release workflows, Concept Plus reduced regression testing runtime by 50% and increased automated test coverage, saving approximately 97 manhours during each monthly release cycle. The team also improved delivery quality and operational efficiency by significantly reducing software rework rates while maintaining responsive end-user support.
